Tonight we had some very famous people come by our house. They turned to be a lot shorter than I had imagined them. The guest list included, but was not limited to, Darth Vader, Spiderman, Little Bo Peep, some Power Rangers, a kernal of candy corn personified, and I'm not sure, but I think Batman was also in the crowd. Here's a photo of Anna with one of them.

And here she is wondering why everyone else had to dress up to get their candy.

Anyway, I wasn't sure what to do about Halloween this year. I don't believe in it and I know a lot of people who think it's evil. I agree that some people use it for evil, but a lot of people do the same with Christmas. I decided, however, that it would be a good way to meet some folks in the neighborhood...and it was! Honestly, I was also just looking for an excuse to buy candy and I'll admit that I was pretty stingy with the Reese's Peanut Butter Cups...yumm...

We're back!

Anna and I came home yesterday from our trip to VA. It was a great time, except that I got a bad cold. Yuck. Anna seems to have avoided it so far. The other problem was I was seriously ill-packed. I was not prepared for record low temps. I wore the same sweater (the only one I packed) every day....oh well. Here's a photo of Anna and her cousin Haley-anne.

Here's another one of her with her other cousins and Grammie.

And there's one of Anna ready for the ride home.

So I'm no sure how this will look once I publish it. I'm still new at all this.

Anna Log: Anna Log

Homeward Bound

Well, we packed Daddy off to JRTC and he has arrived safely and will start training today. I'm praying it will be worthwhile and that it will prepare them for the deployment. Anna and I are determined to make the most of these 3 weeks. We'll be heading home today after church. We're excited about seeing family and I'm ready for some real fall foliage and more seasonable weather. Somehow flip flops in Oct. seems off. To be honest, I'm also ready for some help with the little girl. It'll be nice to just have someone else help entertain her! We'll have lots of great photos when we return.

Anna Log

I'm just wondering if my fellow parents give lots of strange nicknames to their kids, or if anyone else gives funny nicknames to friends, spouses, pets, cars, etc. Anna has lots of nicknames. Most of this started with her daddy who loves to give nicknames to anyone. Myself and Mr. E being his easiest targets...until Anna came along. His favorite is "Bear." It really suits her too, since she's so huge and scary. But it is cute when you say Anna Bear and she grins really big. Some of her others are Babydoll, Littles, and this is the best, Ninja. I have no idea how he came up with this one...maybe because she kicks a lot??

Mr. E also has a slew of them, but most recently John decided to give him name extensions. Currently his full name is Mr. E. Bustopher Jones - like the big fat cat in "Cats..."or just "Bus." It suits.

Anna Log

Anna Log

Hi everyone! Anna just wanted to say hello to her friends out there in the blogging world today. Not much going on today. We are preparing for Daddy to go to JRTC and Anna and I will be going home for about a week or so. She's very excited to see her grandparents, great-grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, and everyone in between!

Here I am world!

Hi World,

Well, it isn't exactly right that I am starting in this world today, but is my seven month birthday so it is almost like I am starting! I got a new toy today, some wooden blocks that move around on a metal pole, can't beat that for a good time.
